After almost a month, the flamingo was rescued, which had been stuck since December 1 with a rope around its neck and one leg.

The flamingo was reportedly found last Sunday and rescued in Lake Oroklini. At the same time, a second flamingo was released, which was found with a rope braided in its legs and neck.

The rescue was carried out in the presence of people and photographers who gathered and called for help.

It seems in both cases that these are thin plastic ropes with which the kites are tied and are probably from the remnants of Net Monday. Near the Hala Sultan mosque there is a park, where every year on Holy Monday the Municipality organizes events, as a result of which there are remains of kites that seem to endanger the flamingos that arrive in Autumn. On Shrove Monday Aliki in those places is dried.
