Concerns should not be raised about coronavirus outbreaks if self-protection measures are not followed in synchronization areas during this week-long holiday week of August XNUMX, says Left University Professor advising people to be especially careful in their movements.

Speaking to KYPE, Dr. Karagiannis said that this week of August XNUMX is crucial given that many people are on vacation, stating that people should be careful especially where there is synchronicity.

Asked if more cases will be reported these days, he said it is a possibility that more will occur in places where there are large concentrations of people and self-protection measures are not observed.

The landscape is cloudy for how cases are handled

Dr. Karagiannis said that the landscape is "cloudy for how cases are handled", as many citizens are on holiday and may not go for tests. He noted, however, that the cases are declining and this can be seen from the hospitalizations.

"Usually, the cases go up on Monday. Yesterday it was under 500, so if that's the case today, fine. "On the other hand, not so many tests were performed," he added.

He pointed out that as the cases drop, so will the hospitalizations.

He noted that there would be further deaths, depending on whether those being treated had been vaccinated and whether they had any underlying diseases.
"It simply came to our notice then. "The number of cases is under control, it had stabilized somewhat between 500-600, now we see numbers below 500, I hope this is an indication that the number of cases is decreasing", he noted.

Asked, Dr. Karagiannis said that it seems that the goal is achievable so that by the end of August we reach 80-82% with the first dose. "Under such conditions, it will be safer for children to return to school," he added.
