Vaccination coverage in the country, the third dose of the covid vaccine19 and the new school year are at the forefront of discussions.
Speaking on the front page, Dr. Petros Karagiannis stated that there is enough data for the third installment to be administered.
"Cases in our nursing homes were an indication that over time antibody levels, especially in the elderly, are declining. That is why our immunity must be strengthened, "he said.
Referring to the new school year, he said the following: "There is concern, the recommendation to vaccinate 12-year-olds and above should be done as soon as possible.
"With the opening of the schools, we must be very careful with the implementation of the protocols that were announced yesterday so that there are no problems with closing classes and keeping children at home."
Asked if we would return to normalcy, he said, "At some point we will return to our normalcy. This will happen when the vaccination coverage is uniform in all age groups ".
In closing, he stressed that we are at a very advanced stage with vaccinations, "let us hope that general immunity will act as a protective wall even for those who have not been vaccinated."
