Cyprus is one step ahead of vaccinations after the official licensing and the "green" light given by the Commission for the Pfizer vaccine.

"We are now ready for vaccinations", said characteristically speaking on the show Mesimeri kai Kati the Associate Professor of Pharmacology of the University of Nicosia, Dr. Christos Petrou while adding that, "we now have the vaccine license, we have the instructions. We are ready".

Regarding the possible side effects, Dr. Petrou said that the latest data are taken into account, both from the use and some clarifications from clinical studies such as allergies. The necessary instructions are given in the instructions for use for unwanted side effects ".

He further added that "vaccines and mutations are not new. We have seen mutations since September. The vaccine we have in our hands expresses the whole protein of the virus. A mutation in an area will not affect or change its effectiveness. The vaccines that we will have are not affected by the mutations ".
