Hoteliers' hopes for the Fifteenth of August

While in August the hotel units were overflowing with people and it was difficult to secure a room in a beach resort, if you had not booked early, the data changed this year.

The first week of August closes with fairly low booking rates, while the majority of Cypriots choose for holidays the second and third week of August. The average occupancy at the moment reaches 25%, a fact that makes hoteliers whine, since they were used to the record of tourism in recent years, while they had made extensions and renovations.

Last year, Cyprus hosted more than half a million visitors. This year, locals and foreigners number in the thousands. However, hoteliers hope that occupancy will improve as the days go by and will exceed 60% by August XNUMXth.

They also threw their nets at those who decided at the last minute not to visit Greece. Last year, 63.603 Cypriots traveled to Greece. This number is expected to drop to a few hundred travelers, which fills expectations of hoteliers that they will win a share of the pie.
