A total of 31 confirmed mutated strains of the British virus were identified from samples sent by the Department of Health to the ECDC for testing.

The ECDC performed specialized laboratory tests on another 94 positive samples that were sent for sequencing of SARS-COV-2 strains, according to the Ministry of Health.

Of the 94 samples, he notes, the sequencing was successful in 47 samples of positive cases in January, while in three samples the British strain of the virus was detected.

So far, the Ministry of Health has received results from the ECDC for 130 successful sequences (83 + 47), through which the British strain of the virus was detected in a total of 31 samples (23,8%).
