A driver was reported by the Police for excessive speed in Paphos. He was reportedly spotted driving at 89 km/h instead of 50 on Tuesday.
According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, at 10:15 on Tuesday morning on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, a car traveling at 89 kilometers instead of 50 kilometers, which was the permitted limit, failed to stop at a police signal and then sped off to escape.
Then the driver of the vehicle allegedly violated a red signal and was stopped after a short distance and after a chase. As it became clear, the driver of the vehicle was a 39-year-old permanent resident of Cyprus who did not have a driver's license or insurance.
The 39-year-old was accused in writing to be summoned later.
Also as part of an operation to prevent road collisions in Paphos, 25 complaints were made yesterday Tuesday.
