Dutch MP Lian den Haan was in the occupied territories where she had a meeting with the so-called "tourism minister" of the pseudo-state.
She posted on twitter, calling the occupied territories "the Turkish Republic of northern Cyprus", saying she discussed developments in the tourism sector and the effects of the pandemic.
The incident provoked a strong reaction from Luca Fourlas, who hurried to respond via tweet to the Dutch Member of Parliament.
In his own post, he clarified to Ms. Haan that her visit was to European territory, which has been occupied by Turkey, adding "it is a shame for you to talk about a Turkish democracy in northern Cyprus".
Finally, he calls her to answer if she did not know where she went.
