Yesterday, Monday 06/12, two dogs were found hanged with a wire in the area of Lythrodonta. The specific dogs had been declared by their owner that they had disappeared from their place of residence a few days ago and he was looking for them.
The killed dogs were located by the owner together with his minor son. These harsh images of dead dogs, still with the wire around their necks, caused mental anguish to both the owner and the child. Obviously the dogs were placed in a specific place that would be sure to be found by their owner.
The case has already been reported to the Police and is being investigated by the Nicosia Animal Police. As the Ecologists 'Movement - Citizens' Cooperation, we condemn the new barbaric and criminal act against animals and demand the full clarification of the case so that it can be brought to justice. We emphasize for the umpteenth time that such crimes against animals must be punished with very severe punishments by the courts so that these punishments play a deterrent role.
We will monitor the development of the case, stressed the administrator of the Action Group for the Animals of the Movement, Mr. Anthi Mouzouris, until justice is done for these souls. It is inconceivable, he also stressed, that in the years 2021 to witness such horrific crimes against animals and finally this must stop if we want to be called a civilized people.
