A 39-year-old woman was driving her car in Larnaca province with almost five times the amount of alcohol than normal.
A written announcement from the Communication Office of the Police Headquarters states that "members of the Police stopped a 39-year-old woman who was driving her car at around 1.40 this morning, at a point of the highway in the area of Anglisida. "During the inspection, suspicions were raised that the 39-year-old was under the influence of alcohol and the members of the Police proceeded to conduct a preliminary breathalyzer test, with a positive result".
The members of the Police drove the 39-year-old with her vehicle to the local Police Station and in a final breathalyzer test that was performed, the indication was 104, instead of up to 22μg% ml.
The woman was reported by the Police for a case of driving under the influence of alcohol and was summoned to appear before the Larnaca District Court tomorrow, Tuesday, December 21, for the trial of the case. She left the Police Station while her vehicle was kept in custody. The case is being investigated by the Kofinou Police Station.
