The low barometric pressure called Avgi will affect the area until Thursday.

Today, the weather will be mostly cloudy, while local rains, isolated storms and snowfalls in the mountains are expected. Hail is also likely to fall in a storm, while snowfall may temporarily be heavy. The phenomena, in some places, may be prolonged or even intense. Winds will be northeast to southeast, light to moderate and transiently moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and on the northern coast strong to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort. The sea in the north will be rough and temporarily even wavy, in the east rough, while on the other coasts it will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 12 degrees in the interior, around 15 on the coasts and 2 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will continue to be mostly cloudy with localized rain, isolated thunderstorms and snow in the mountains. Hail is also likely to fall in a storm, while snowfall may temporarily be heavy. The phenomena, in some places, may be prolonged or even intense. Winds will be northeast to southeast and later variable, light and locally moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, however initially on the northern coasts will blow northeast, strong, 5 Beaufort. The sea in the north will be rough and temporarily even wavy, in the east rough, while on the other coasts it will be a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 7 degrees in the interior, around 8 on the coasts and minus 2 degrees in the higher mountains. Frost is expected to form in the mountains and locally in the semi-mountains, while it is not excluded in leeward areas of the interior.

On Wednesday, the weather will continue to be mostly cloudy with localized rain, isolated thunderstorms and snow in the mountains. In a storm, hail is also possible. The phenomena, in some places, may be prolonged or even intense.

On Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy, while isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms are expected. Snowfall is expected in the mountains. From the afternoon onwards, a significant improvement in the weather is expected. On Friday, locally increased clouds will be observed at times, which may give isolated rain.

The temperature on Wednesday will remain at the same levels, which are below the average climatic values, however until Friday it will gradually rise, to be close to and slightly above the average climatic values ​​for the season. The height of the snow in Troodos Square, at the time of issuing the bulletin, was 9 cm.
