The Larnaca District Court today sentenced a captain of a Maltese-flagged ship to one month in prison for illegally entering the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.

According to the Police, the captain of the Red Garnet ship with the Maltese flag, aged 60, was arrested on the morning of Sunday, August 1, at the EAC terminal in Vasiliko, after an inspection revealed that the ship had sailed on October 14 and 12. December 2020, in the closed port of Bogazi in the occupied territories.

The 60-year-old from Romania, was brought before the Larnaca District Court in the morning, which sentenced him to one month in prison.
