The rains that fell in several areas in Cyprus, if taken into account the cumulative height of December have exceeded 170-180% of the rainfall for the month, said to KYPE, the Director of the Meteorological Service Kleanthis Nikolaidis.

He said that as the weather evolved, the warning we had from the yellow level to the orange level was updated from yesterday at 5 pm until today at 4 pm.

"The rains are expected to continue, in places they will be prolonged. In mountainous Troodos it did not stop raining all day and night. Several areas in Cyprus have caught the normal rainfall of December within 24 hours. "If the rains in the cumulative height of December are taken into account, they may exceed 170-180%", he said.

The weather from the afternoon, he continued, is significantly improving so that in the change of time the weather is mostly clear.

"The weekend will be with temporary clouds and the possibility of isolated rain. Next week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the weather will be mostly clear with a few temporary clouds. "Temperatures are somewhat down due to the cloud cover but will be at normal levels for the season," he added.
