The Ministry of Health informs that a total of 7,614 tests were performed today to detect the disease COVID-19.
A. Molecular Test (PCRtest): Of the 7,614 laboratory tests, 3,213 laboratory diagnoses were performed by the molecular method (PCR), with 141 cases of the disease COVID-19, which emerged as follows:
- Out of 637 samples taken through the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases, 52 cases were identified.
- Out of 777 samples taken through private initiative, 41 cases were identified.
- From 232 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 15 cases were identified.
- From 240 samples taken under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, 3 cases were identified.
- Out of 78 samples taken in the Limassol District as part of a control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Limassol and Paphos Districts, 13 cases were identified.
- From 702 samples taken in the District of Nicosia in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 6 cases were identified.
- From 212 samples taken in the District of Paphos in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Districts of Limassol and Paphos, 5 cases were identified.
- Out of 177 samples taken in Larnaca District as part of the control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Limassol and Paphos Provinces, 1 case was identified.
- Out of 48 samples taken under the control program of students, teachers and school staff, 3 cases were identified.
- Out of 2 samples taken under the immigrant structures control program, 2 cases were identified.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were performed without detecting a case:
- From samples taken in the Province of Famagusta in the context of control of workers who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 24 laboratory diagnoses were completed, and
- From samples taken from the inhabitants of Kato Pyrgos Tillirias, 84 laboratory diagnoses were completed.
B. Rapid antigen detection test (antigensfasttest): Of the 7,614 tests, 4,401 were performed using the rapid antigen detection method, with 114 positive results, identified as follows:

In addition, the positive result for 11 samples of positive results detected through the rapid antigen test method in the previous days. In addition, three positive results from rapid tests were not verified by the molecular method. Positive rapid antigen detection tests confirmed by PCR are included in the total number of cases below.
Therefore, based on the data so far, the total number of cases is 10,383.
