The Ministry of Health informs that a total of 14,455 tests were performed today to detect the disease COVID-19.
A. Molecular Test (PCRtest): Of the 14,455 laboratory tests, 6,590 laboratory diagnoses were performed by the molecular method (PCR), with 179 cases of the disease COVID-19, which emerged as follows:
- Out of 546 samples taken through the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases, 65 cases were identified.
- Out of 1,950 samples taken through private initiative, 59 cases were identified.
- From 312 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 18 cases were identified.
- From 207 samples taken under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, 2 cases were identified.
- Out of 1,289 samples taken in the Limassol District as part of a control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Limassol and Paphos Districts, 4 cases were identified.
- From 775 samples taken in the District of Nicosia in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 11 cases were identified.
- From 623 samples taken in the District of Paphos in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Districts of Limassol and Paphos, 11 cases were identified.
- Out of 126 samples taken under the control program of students, teachers and school staff, 3 cases were identified.
- Out of 95 samples taken under the immigrant structures control program, 5 cases were identified.
- Out of 494 samples taken during the passenger and repatriated control, 1 case was detected.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were performed without detecting a case:
- From laboratory samples taken in the Province of Famagusta in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 26 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
- From samples taken in the Province of Larnaca in the context of control of workers who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Districts of Limassol and Paphos, 144 laboratory diagnoses were performed, and
- From samples taken from the inhabitants of Kato Pyrgos Tillirias, 3 laboratory diagnoses were completed.
B. Rapid antigen detection test (antigensfasttest): Of the 14,455 tests, 7,865 were performed using the rapid antigen detection method (rapid test), with 104 positive results, which were identified as follows:

In addition, the positive result for 69 samples of positive results detected through the rapid antigen test method in the previous days. Positive rapid antigen detection tests confirmed by PCR are included in the total number of cases below.
Therefore, based on the data so far, the total number of cases is 10,231.
