CYPRUS: 5 deaths and over 2.300 cases

The Ministry of Health announces that today, February 18 2022:

- They were announced 5 deaths

- Relate to:

  • A woman, 79 years old, who passed away on February 17
  • A woman, 87 years old, who passed away on February 17
  • A 72-year-old man who died on February 18
  • A woman, 51 years old, who passed away on February 18
  • A 92-year-old man who died on February 18

- Total number of deaths with final cause of the disease COVID-19: 819.

-       170 patients COVID-19 are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals

-       41 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of ventilator / 13 intubated, MAF: 28)

- Percentage of patients without a history of vaccination: 68,24%

-       28 Patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be treated intubated for COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic examinations:

- They took place in total 110.891 diagnostic examinations

- They were located 2.304 new cases (set of cases 302.661).

- Position rate in all exams 2,08%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

- They took place 6.938 molecular tests

- They emerged 334positive incidents

- Position of positivity 4,81%

-       Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (fastTest):

- They were carried out 103.953 rapid antigen detection tests

- They emerged 1.970 positive incidents

- Position of positivity 1,9%

Tracking:

- They were carried out 620 molecular tests and were detected  53 positive events (percentage of positivity 8,55%)

- They were carried out 1.006 rapid antigen detection tests and detected 84 positive events (percentage of positivity 8,35%)

Private initiative:

- They were carried out 1.964 molecular tests were identified 227 positive events (percentage of positivity 11,56%)

- They were carried out 45.051 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 1.171 positive events (percentage of positivity 2,6%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health were carried out 58.902 rapid antigen detection test. They were located 799 positive incidents.

- Sampling points: 17.814 rapid detection tests were detected 455 positive events (percentage of positivity 2,55%)

Education

- Primary Education: 11.563 rapid antigen detection tests were detected  67 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,58%)

- Secondary Education: 985 rapid detection tests were detected  22 positive events (percentage of positivity 2,23%)

- Test-to-Stay: performed 5.402 rapid antigen detection tests and detected 55 positive events (percentage of positivity 1,02%)

- Special Schools: conducted 305 rapid antigen detection test and no positive cases detected (positivity rate 0%)

Other

- Nursing homes: conducted 20.401 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 114positive events (percentage of positivity 0,56%)

- Closed structures: carried out 169 rapid antigen detection test and no new cases detected (percentage of positivity 0%).

- Government Services: performed 1.257 rapid antigen detection tests and detected 2 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,16%)

Note:

The figures mentioned in the announcement are indicative and may vary based on the final and up-to-date data sent in the context of the National Epidemiological Risk Report published every second Friday.
