The Ministry of Health announces that today, December 10 2021:
- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded COVID-19, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 607.
- 138 patients COVID-19 of which 47 are in serious condition. 78.25% of patients do not have a history of vaccination.
- 5 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be treated intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 93,840 disease detection tests have been performed with the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test method.
- 662 (positivity rate: 0.71% new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases in 140,030.
The current results are detailed.
A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
No patient deaths were recorded with COVID-19. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 remains 607, of which:
- 389 men (64.1%), and
- 218 women (35.9%).
The average age of those who die from the disease is 75.8 years.
B. Patients:
In total, 138 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 47 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 47 patients in serious condition, 17 are intubated, 4 are admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 26 to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 93,840 diagnoses made, 9,817 were made by molecular method (PCR) and 84,023 by the method of antigen rapid test, 662 cases of the disease were identified. COVID-19, which emerged as follows:
- 120 cases from 1,785 samples taken through the process of tracking contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 8 cases of 3,396 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 131 cases from 4,140 samples taken through private initiative.
- 11 cases from 326 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 280 cases from 51,513 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 109 cases from 32,510 samples examined by the method of antigen rapid test through the program of the Ministry of Health.
- 3 cases from 168 samples received under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics.
In addition, the following tests were performed, without detecting a case:
- Cases of 0 samples taken as part of closed structure tests.
