The Government fully respects the intellectual and artistic freedom of creation, which can not be misinterpreted or restricted due to the title of a song, says the Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic, Viktoras Papadopoulos.

In a written statement regarding the song that will represent Cyprus at Eurovision, Mr. Papadopoulos says the government respects any views of the Holy Synod or those who disagree with the title of the song, which will represent Cyprus at Eurovision this year, noting that at the same time, however, the Government fully respects the intellectual and artistic freedom of creation, which cannot be misinterpreted or restricted by the title of a song.

As he adds, "dimensions that are not needed should not be given".
