Roadblocks were reduced by millions in 2020

Kıbrıs (02.11.20) writes that the crossings from the roadblocks between occupied and free areas of Cyprus decreased significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic during the first nine months of 2020 compared to the corresponding period of 2019, according to the GTP.

According to the newspaper, while during the first nine months of 2019 the total crossings amounted to 9 million 935 thousand 477, during the same period of 2020 they decreased to 2 million 646 thousand 222.

From the free areas to the occupied areas, 1 million 325 thousand 908 crossings were made during this period of 2020, compared to 2 million 642 thousand 614 during the corresponding period of 2019. In other words, there was a decrease of 77,5%.

The crossings to the free zones during the first nine months of 2019 were 4 million 963 thousand 065 and decreased to 1 million 325 thousand 908 during the same period of 2020.
