In October 2021, little Evelina Papantoniou from Limassol, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of childhood cancer and is currently in Germany with her family for treatment.
The duration of the trip is long, as well as its cost. Thus, an initiative has started that we hope will be embraced by all of Cyprus.
Evelina is a beautiful little girl of 3,5 years. In early October 2021 he had a problem with his eyes and his parents took him to the ophthalmologist. At first they were told that it was not something serious but two weeks later, her eyes got worse. From the new medical examinations, it appeared that Evelina could not see at all from one of her eyes and had two malignant tumors in the brain.
Mr. Harris Papantoniou, Evelina's father, states:
"In October 2021, he was diagnosed with an aggressive type of Stage IV cancer and has gone to Israel for treatment. In addition, he has to undergo further specialized treatments in Germany, where we are now. The Republic of Cyprus through our Ministry of Health covers only the costs related to the additional proton treatments in Germany.
Due to the fact that the family expenses in both Israel and Germany are very high, we have been approved to carry out a fundraiser number: 23/2021, in order to financially cover the stay in Israel and Germany, the medication, travel expenses and airfare between these countries.
