The Council of Ministers is expected to take decisions to tighten measures against the coronavirus as the epidemiological picture of Cyprus continues to show no improvement and hospitals are overcrowded.
The meeting is set for 11.30am.
It is considered almost certain that the existing measures will be extended and tightened for a period of at least 2 weeks, with the total lockdown scenario still on the table.
Very small relaxations may be decided on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday.
Last night, President Anastasiadis met with the advisory scientific committee, in the presence of members of the Ministry.
Today, before the meeting of the Minister, the President will inform the National Council, which meets at 9.00, about the situation.
