Paphos Police is investigating a case of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs, illegal possession of property and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor against two persons aged 47 and 28 years.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos, Michalis Ioannou, members of the Paphos Traffic Police stopped a vehicle in which two people were riding. According to their data, one was 47 years old, a permanent resident of Cyprus and had a 28-year-old compatriot as a passenger.

A preliminary examination of drugs in the driver revealed that drugs were detected in his saliva, while he received an additional saliva sample for laboratory purposes at the General State Chemistry. Also, from a final alcohol test performed on the driver, it was found that the 47-year-old was driving under the influence of alcohol, with a final indication of 46mg instead of 22mg, which is the limit allowed by law.

A physical search of the 28-year-old co-driver of the vehicle revealed that he was in possession of a black case, which contained 15 keys, a black device and a colorful necklace, for which he did not give satisfactory explanations about the legality of their possession. .

The same day, the 28-year-old was arrested for the crime of illegal possession of property and was transferred to the Paphos Central Police Station, which is investigating the case.

In the meantime, according to Mr. Ioannou, the 47-year-old was facing an arrest warrant for a case of conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor, criminal act of entry and illegal possession of property, and as a result he was arrested and taken into custody.

Paphos Central Police Station and Paphos Traffic Police are investigating offenses involving their own jurisdiction.
