On the occasion of the anniversary of the sacrifice of Kyriakos Matsis, the Associations of Fighters of E.O.K.A. 1955-59 in collaboration with the Hero's family, held a Trisagio in the area of the Prisoner Memorials in his memory.
As mentioned in an announcement of the Fighters' Associations E.O.K.A. The Trisagio was performed as part of the measures against the coronavirus pandemic on Thursday at 1.20 p.m. and time of sacrifice of the hero.
The event was attended, among others, by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Prodromos Prodromou, the brother of the hero Giannakis Matsis and the competitor and close associate of the hero Andreas Panagiotou.
After the end of Trisagio, wreaths were laid and the National Anthem was sung.
Meanwhile, in the morning of the same day, a group of students of the Lyceum of Kykkos A ', visited, on the occasion of the sacrifice of Giannakis Matsis, the Imprisoned Memorials. The students were accompanied by their Lyceum Principal Dimitris Taliadoros and were guided to the sanctuary by the President of the Fighters Associations E.O.K.A. 1955 -1959 Thassos Sophocles.
