A 39-year-old man was sentenced today to nine years in prison by the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court, following a drug possession case with the aim of supplying another person.
In the possession of the 39-year-old, a quantity of cocaine weighing one kilo had been identified by members of the Anti-Drug Service - YKAN, last June.
One kilo of cocaine was found in the possession of the 39-year-old, who was stopped for control by the members of YKAN, around 12.00 noon, on June 12, on a road in the area of Aradippou, where he was driving his vehicle.
The 39-year-old tried to escape control by driving his vehicle dangerously, which collided with three police vehicles, before being stopped, while immediately afterwards, he attacked the members of the Police, trying to avoid his arrest.
The cocaine was then found inside his vehicle, in a package.
