About 250 workers are waiting to be paid, receiving state support due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. These are 220 thousand employees and 31 thousand self-employed people, who participate in government projects and are waiting for the remittances of the Ministry of Labor for the period from May 13 to June 12, 2020.

"F" contacted the Minister of Labor, Zeta Aimilianidou, who stated that the payment of the allowances will probably be made by the end of the week and as soon as the processing of the applications by the computer system is completed.

It is worth noting that the previous payment started on May 22, so this date is considered final to enter the remittances in the bank accounts with the completion of one month. This payment of benefits by the state to thousands of workers and the self-employed is expected to be the last in this form.

The plans for new employment support programs are expected to be announced by tomorrow. The information brings the government to differentiate the way the crisis is managed through the programs of the Ministry of Labor. The new plans will run until the end of October in the first phase.

They will cover the employment of mainly hotel units that may not work at all, the catering centers of the coastal areas whose turnover has decreased dramatically as well as the relevant tourist shops and services while the list of plans will include seasonal maritime sports enterprises. . In a second phase, work support programs, particularly for the hotel industry, are set to expand by March 2021.

To date, work support plans have covered about 15km since March 220th. employees and self-employed persons who were, due to the pandemic, in full or partial suspension. In the first period of support through the special programs of the Ministry of Labor, 170 thousand people were subsidized with € 93 million, while in the second phase 180 thousand people were subsidized with € 124 million. which were considered justified to be included in the employment subsidy plans. For the third period, from 8 May to 13 June, the state had to spend close to € 12 million as part of the Ministry of Labor's plans.
