The Paphos Police arrested two people on Thursday to facilitate investigations into an investigated case of conspiracy to commit a felony, forgery, circulation of a forged document and impersonation, while a third person, a woman, was accused in writing to be summoned later due to the fact that she was accompanied by a minor child.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, yesterday around 13:30 p.m., a 27-year-old man and his 25-year-old wife presented themselves at the Departures Department of Paphos airport bound for Sofia, presenting Syrian passports.

During the passport control, Mr. Nikolaou told KYPE, suspicions were raised among the members of the Police after the couple entered the passenger hall that they were in possession of forged documents and upon investigation they were found to be in possession of forged British passports as well as tickets to Dublin.

He said a 25-year-old man also presented himself at Paphos Airport's Departures Department, also presenting a Syrian passport and a boarding pass for Sofia. Under the same suspicions, the 25-year-old was found to be in possession of a fake Dutch passport and a ticket to Dublin.

It said the two men, a 27-year-old and a 25-year-old, were arrested for the offenses of conspiracy to commit a felony, forgery, circulation of a forged document and impersonation and are being held in custody.

The 25-year-old, wife of the 27-year-old, who had a minor child with her, was arrested but released in order to be summoned later and charged before the Paphos District Court.

The Paphos Police are continuing the investigations into the case.
