The President of the Republic referred to the 2023 Presidential elections and the statutory procedures that apply to DISY for the election of a candidate for President.
In an interview with OMEGA, President Anastasiadis stressed that if Averof Neophytou decides to run for the presidency in the 2023 elections, then he will have the first say, according to the statute of the Democratic Alarm.
Specifically, the President stated "When the President of the party shows interest, he has the first reason and if anyone is interested, let him come inside the party to challenge him".
Finally, Nikos Anastasiadis brought as an example the Presidential elections of 2008, when he did not want to be a candidate and DISY chose Ioannis Kasoulidis.
