The 49-year-old resident of Larnaca was arrested today by the Police, in order to facilitate the investigations regarding an investigated case of child pornography.
The investigation of the case started after information received by the Police, from Europol, according to which a user of a social media account, uploaded and sent to another user, a video file, with content of sexual abuse of minors.
From the examinations carried out by the Cybercrime Prosecution Branch, a testimony emerged against the 49-year-old. Based on the testimony, an arrest warrant was issued against him, under which he was arrested today and detained.
The arrest of the 49-year-old was followed by a search of his home, where a mobile phone and an electronic tablet were located and taken as evidence.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Division is investigating the case.
