The Paphos Police made a second arrest, a 34-year-old woman, on Sunday afternoon after the arrest of a 24-year-old woman to facilitate investigations for an investigated case of illegal possession of drugs, with the purpose of supply.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, on Saturday afternoon, a 24-year-old woman went to the police custody of the Polis Chrysochous police station, with the aim of delivering supplies to a 31-year-old person who is in custody, for investigation domestic violence case.

As Mr. Nikolaou told KYPE, in a physical check carried out on the supplies by a member of the police station in the presence of the 24-year-old woman, a quantity of a crystalline substance, similar to methamphetamine, with a gross weight of 0,3 grams was found in the shampoo.

Afterwards, the 24-year-old handed over to the Police a transparent nylon bag containing a quantity of crystal substance, similar to methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0,2 grams, which she had hidden inside her bra. When questioned, the 24-year-old said that the drugs found in her bra were procured by her 34-year-old compatriot and that she herself used this quantity, Mr. Nikolaou continued.

With regard to the drugs found in the supplies she was carrying, the 24-year-old stated that she received the supplies from her 34-year-old compatriot, without knowing their contents, in order to hand them over to the Polis Chrysochous police station for the 31-year-old, which, as he said, he did. When questioned, the 31-year-old denied any involvement in the case.

Several fine warrants were also pending against the 24-year-old, who was arrested and taken into custody.

An arrest warrant was issued against the 34-year-old on Saturday and she was arrested on Sunday at 13:40 p.m. When questioned, the 34-year-old denied any involvement in the case. The substances sent through the package were sent for scientific testing.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.
