In order to ensure the viability of public hospitals in the competitive environment of the General Health System (GESY), the joint delegation of the trade unions SEK and PEO discussed yesterday, headed by the General Secretaries, Andreas Matsas, Pampis Kyritikos, respectively Mario Panagidis, the General Manager Kristi Loizidis and members of the Management Team of the Organization.

In a joint statement today, SEC and PEO state that the meeting also discussed the leading role of public hospitals in tackling the coronavirus pandemic and the support / protection of public hospital staff, who exaggerate themselves under difficult circumstances, for the best possible operation of the hospitals.

They were also informed about the administrative and financial autonomy of the public hospitals, the measures taken to improve the operation of the public hospitals, the desired improvement of the quality of health services and the employment issues concerning the employees of OKYPY.

The two organizations, in the context of their mission to organize employees to improve their economic and social conditions and ensure equal treatment and opportunities for all employees, explained the importance of free and collective bargaining.

As they note, they expressed their desire to strengthen their relations with OKYPY, aiming at resolving all issues concerning employees, in a way that ensures good working conditions and improves the competitiveness of public hospitals, for the provision of quality health services. .

Among the issues discussed were also the implementation of a welfare fund for young employees in OKYPY and their union representation.

The joint delegation was attended by the General Secretary of OEKDY SEK, George Konstantinou, the General Secretary of SIDIKEK PEO, Nikos Grigoriou and the General Secretary of PASYEK PEO, Michalis Archontidis.
