Cyprus has elected the 56 elected for the new Parliament and from June 10, new and old MPs are rolling up their sleeves. Others are entering parliament for the first time and others are continuing from where they left off.

But what do the 56 chosen ones promise? Below are their CVs per party.

AKEL

Andros Kyprianou

Andros Kyprianou was born in 1955 in Strovolos. He is married to Sofia Podina and they have two children. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering of the Higher Technological Institute (ATI) in 1976. Two years later he was employed at the Higher Technological Institute, where he worked until 1988. He attended courses at the Pedagogical Institute and received further training in Rimini, Italy.

Aristos Damianos

Aristos Damianou was born in 1972 in occupied Famagusta and lives in Nicosia. He is married to Stavri Kalopsidiotou and they have a son. He holds a law degree from Middlesex University (LL.B Hons) and a master's degree in Public International Law from the University of London (LL.M). He works as a Lawyer and Legal Advisor.

George Loukaidis

George Loukaidis was born in 1968 in the occupied village of Pyroi and lives in Aglantzia. He is married to Kalomira Ioannou and they have two children. He is a graduate of the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia, majoring in Political Studies and Diplomacy.

Stefanos Stefanou

Stefanos Stefanou was born in Gerolakko in 1965, where he lived until the Turkish invasion. He spent his student years in his father's village, on Monday. He has been living in Geri since 1995. He is married to the teacher Georgia Zenonos and they have two children. He studied in Sofia, Bulgaria and holds a degree in Political Science. He was President of the Bulgarian Cypriot Student Organization. He played football for the youth team of Omonia Nicosia (1980-1984) and was an international with the National Youth Team (1982-1984).

Christos Christofidis

Christos Christofidis was born in 1974 in Morphou and lives in Palouriotissa, Nicosia. He is married to Rita Panaura and they have two children. He holds a degree in Education, a degree in Political Science from the University of Cyprus and a postgraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Warwick and in Political and Social Theory from the University of Cyprus.

Irini Charalambidou

Irini Charalambidou was born in 1964 in Limassol and lives in Nicosia. She is married to Andros Papapavlou and they have two children. He studied Journalism in Greece and holds a degree in Psychology. She has been serving since 2011 as an MP with the AKEL Left New Forces.

Andreas Kafkalias

Andreas Kafkalias was born in 1971 in Limassol, where he lives. He is married to Niki Lazarou and they have three children. He holds a degree in Business Administration.

Costas Costa

Costas Costas was born in 1971 in Zakaki and is married to Lia Leventi from Agios Athanasios and they have a daughter. He is a graduate of the Lyceum of Agios Antonios in Limassol.

From 1991 he worked in the Contractor Registration and Control Council with the duties of Technical Inspector in the province of Limassol, a position he resigned from, after his election to the parliamentary office in 2011.

Marina Nikolaou

Marina Nikolaou was born in 1986 in Limassol and comes from Pelendri. He is a graduate of the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Cyprus and at the same time is pursuing postgraduate studies on "Communication and the Media in Times of Crisis" at Frederick University.

George Koukoumas

George Koukoumas was born in 1983 in Larnaca and comes from occupied Agastina and Avgorou in the province of Famagusta. He is a graduate of the Athens Law School and holds an LLM Master's Degree in Public International Law from the University of London.

Nikos Kettiros

Nikos Savva Kettiros was born in 1974 in Larnaca, where he lives. It originates from the occupied Solution. He is married to Dimitra Nikoletti Kettirou and they have two children. He studied Journalism in Cyprus and then at the Hellenic Open University, studying Greek Culture.

Giannakis Gabriel

Giannakis Gabriel was born in 1961 in Famagusta and comes from Deryneia, where he lives. He is married to Chrystalleni Ioannou and they have two children. He graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Wood Processing in Hungary and worked as a professor in the field of Carpentry-Furniture (1996-2008).

Andreas Pasiourtidis

He was born in 1984 in Larnaca, where he lives. He is married to Tarsia Stavrou and they have two children. He is a graduate of the Law Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds a Master's Degree in LLM in Commercial Law from the University of Bristol Law School in the United Kingdom, specializing in Corporate Law, Banking Law, Contract Law and Technology and Information Law. He maintains his own Law Firm in which he works as a Lawyer-Legal Adviser and is also a Shareholder and CEO in a company providing consulting services for the protection of Personal Data.

Valentinos Fakontis

He was born in 1985 in Paphos and lives in Geroskipou. He is married to Niovi Michael and they have three children. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and works as a Civil Engineer.

Christos Christofias

Christos Christofias was born in 1983 in Nicosia and comes from the occupied Dikomo. He is married to Marina Savva and they have one child. He holds a degree in Political Science and History from Panteion University.

DIPA

Marios Karoyan

Born in Nicosia in 1961. He studied Political Science at the University of Perugia, specializing in history and international studies.

Marinos Mousiouttas

He was born in Kaimakli, in 1964. His parents are Nikos Mousiouttas, a well-known EOKA fighter, founding member and leading member of DIKO and Nina Koilara. He studied Business Administration at State University of New York. He holds a master's degree in Public Administration from the Mediterranean Institute of Management.

Alekos Tryfonidis

He was born in 1968 in Mount Sinai, Soleas. He studied Electrical Engineering at the Higher Institute of Technology. Since 1993 he has been working at CYTA as a Technical Engineer.

Michalis Giakoumi

Born in Larnaca in 1986. Graduated in Economics from SURREY University in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Master's Degree in European Politics from SURREY University in the United Kingdom. He obtained a second MBA (Business Administration) from CIM, where he studied with a scholarship.

DIKO

Nikolas Papadopoulos

He was born in 1973 in Nicosia. He is married to Giota Kyprianidou. He has three daughters and a son. He studied Law (LL.B., Barrister-at-Law) at University College London of the University of London. He is a lawyer.

Christiana Erotokritou

Christiana Erotokritou was born in May 1973 in Nicosia. He graduated from the English School in Nicosia and then studied at the University of Wolverhampton in England where he obtained a Law (LLB) degree. He later acquired the title Barrister-at-Law from Lincoln's Inn in London. He started working as a lawyer in September 1996 and worked as a combat lawyer in the office of Andreas P. Erotokritou & Co. DEPE in which he is currently a partner.

Chrysis Pantelidis

Born in 1975, he comes from occupied Famagusta and has lived in Nicosia for the last 20 years. After his military service, he studied at the Department of Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a degree in Sociology and is a member of the Cyprus Association of Sociologists.

Pavlos Mylonas

It originates from Agios Ambrosios of Kyrenia, which is currently occupied by Turkish troops. He was born on March 1, 1967 and has three sons. He studied Physical Education and Sports Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Participated in training journalism seminars in Malta and Athens, management and administration, orthophony and television presentation courses. Worked as a journalist.

Panikos Leonidou

Panikos Leonidou was born in Pachna on September 15, 1959. He holds a degree in Law, Public Administration and Political Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Greek Culture of the Open University of Cyprus (APKY). He practices Law in Limassol.

Zacharias Koulias

Christos Seneckis

Christos Orfanidis

He comes from Famagusta and was born on June 14, 1961. He is married to Xenia Ioannou. He has a daughter and a son and is an insurance office manager.

Chrysanthos Savvidis

He was born in Paphos in 1971. He is married to Andri Konstantinou and has two children, Herodotus and Markella. Graduate A Lyceum Ethnarch Makarios GI Paphos 1986-1989. Averof Neophytou

He was born in Argaka, in the area of ​​Paphos, on 31/7/1961. After finishing high school at Polis Chrysochous High School, he studied Economics and Accounting at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in Long Island, New York.

Dimitris Dimitriou

He was born in Nicosia in 1981. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Patras. Holds an MBA from the University of Cyprus. He worked as an associate of Ioannis Kasoulidis and as Director of Marketing and Communication at SPPMEDIA.

Haris Georgiadis

Haris Georgiadis has been the Vice President of the Democratic Alarm since January 2020. He was born in 1972 in Nicosia. He is married to counselor-teacher Eva Giagou Georgiadis and they have a daughter. He studied International Relations and Economics at the University of Reading in the UK (BA, MA) and was a postgraduate researcher at the Institute of European and International Studies of the same university. Since 1999 he has been professionally active in the tourism sector and has run a family hotel business.

Nikos Tornaritis

He was born on December 6, 1964. He is married to Leia Ellina and has two daughters, Emilia and Maria. Graduate of the Law School - National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1988). Rita Superman

It originates from the city of Kyrenia from the genus Moustaka. He holds a degree in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Criminology. She was in charge of the Anti-Trafficking Office of the Police for 15 years and retired with the rank of Senior Lieutenant. In 2016 he was awarded "Hero of the Year" worldwide by the US Secretary of State.

Savia Orfanidou

Fotini Tsiridou 

He holds a law degree from the City University of London with honors (LLB / First Class Honors) and a distinction for better law student performance. He holds a professional Barrister-at-Law degree from the Inns of Court School of Law in London, as a member of the Middle Temple of England and a Master of Laws in Maritime Law with Distinction (LLM / Distinction) from University College London (UCL). He has been practicing law since 2003.

Nikos Sykas

He was born in Limassol and comes from Lania. She has a son, Andreas.

He has studied Economics, and Business Administration, holds an MBA in Business Administration and served successfully in various executive and managerial positions in the banking sector from 2009 to 2013.

Kyriakos Hatzigiannis

It originates from the communities of Agios Sergios and Acheritos of Famagusta. Born in 1963. Married with two children. He studied Economics, Political Science, Engineering at German universities. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Tübingen, Germany.

George Karoullas

He was born in Famagusta in 1972 and comes from the occupied communities of Stylloi and Gaidoura. After the Turkish invasion he lived in Larnaca. He studied Pedagogy and Geography in Cyprus, Greece and the United States of America. He worked as a teacher and taught Geography Teaching at the Department of Educational Sciences of the University of Cyprus.

Nikos Georgiou

He is 38 years old and is a lawyer. Member of the Famagusta Bar Association, of ANORTHOS Famagusta and President of the POSEIDONAS Association. Married to Andrea Theofanous. Together they have two children, George and John.

Onoufrios Koullas

He was born in Famagusta in 1974 and comes from the occupied community of Agia Triada Gialousa. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Cyprus and did postgraduate studies in economics at LSE. He also holds an MA degree in finance.

Annita Dimitriou

It originates from Troullos and Famagusta. She was born on October 18, 1985. She is married to Andreas Kyprianou. He studied Social and Political Sciences at the University. Cyprus and holds a postgraduate degree in International Relations and European Studies from the University of Kent.

Prodromos Alambritis

He was born in Larnaca in 1982. He comes from Aradippou, married with a son. He is a graduate of the Department of Educational Sciences of the University of Cyprus. Postgraduate Studies in Educational Leadership and Business Administration (MBA). He works as a teacher in Primary Education.

Charalambos Pazaros

He served as DISY Paphos District Organizational Secretary from 2013-2018 and was in charge of the electoral staff of Nikos Anastasiadis at the 2013 Presidential elections.

Marios Mavridis

Marios Mavridis comes from the province of Kyrenia and has been working at the European University of Cyprus since 1992 as an Associate Professor of Economics. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he received his BS.c. in Accounting and Finance, and the Ph.D. in finance in 1991.

He was born on July 17, 1957 in Nicosia.
