In the context of the government policy for the digitization and modernization of the communication of the citizens with the Social Insurance Services in order to create a modern and citizen-friendly state, the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance, in cooperation with the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, announces that it is possible to submit electronic applications for sickness benefit from the Social Insurance Fund.

The electronic submission of applications for a specific allowance is the first step in the utilization of digital services, which aims both at optimizing the communication with the citizens, and at the acceleration of the completion of the examination of these requests. In the immediate future, the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Security, in collaboration with the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, will digitize and submit applications electronically for all benefits, with priority given to unemployment and maternity benefits, which are those with the largest number of applications submitted.

From today, Monday, February 7, 2022, applications for sickness benefit from the Social Insurance Fund can be submitted electronically, through the website http://www.mlsi.gov.cy/sid, aiming at their faster examination.

In order to submit the electronic application for sickness benefit, it is necessary for the insured to have previously created a profile on the electronic platform Cy-Login (Ariadne) and to have been identified.

It is emphasized that the possibility of submitting an application in printed form will remain valid only for the next two (2) weeks. With the expiration of the two-week period, the application for sickness benefit will be possible only through the electronic process.
