Paphos District Court issued three-day detention orders yesterday against three people for causing an incident at the Paphos Welfare Office to facilitate investigations.

According to the Spokesman of the Paphos Police Department and Head of the Paphos Police, Michalis Nikolaou, an incident was recorded at the District Welfare Office shortly before noon on December 14, when immigrants entered the building, demanding to receive their financial assistance.

According to Mr. Nikolaou, around 11:30 on December 14, the Paphos Police was informed by the Welfare Office that several people had gathered outside the building and were protesting regarding their checks. Some of them, he continued, allegedly entered the building in the lobby, caused concern and pushed three women Welfare Office officials.
