A 26-year-old woman was detained for illegal stay in the territory of the Republic.
According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos, Michalis Ioannou, at 06:30 on Thursday morning, members of the Paphos Foreigners and Immigration Service went to an apartment complex in the area of Tremithousa, to investigate information given that a foreign woman was living illegally in that area.
After a further check by the members of YAM Paphos, a 26-year-old foreigner was identified, who from a check made in her data found that she arrived through Larnaca airport on April 2, 2021 and was granted a residence permit until July 1, 2021.
Since then, the 26-year-old has been living illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus and has not submitted any request to the authorities.
On the same day, he was arrested by a member of the Aliens and Immigration Service for the spontaneous offense of illegal stay in the territory of the Republic and was taken into custody. The examinations are continued by the Paphos Police.
