The two presidents had a private meeting at the Presidential Palace and then attended extended talks between delegations of the two countries.
In statements that followed, President Anastasiadis said that today's meeting focused on the fields of energy, shipping, trade, tourism, research, education and culture.
He also said that they exchanged views on critical issues concerning the European Union, with a view to Bulgaria taking over the presidency of the European Council.
Euro-Turkish relations and the Cyprus issue were also discussed, and as President Anastasiadis stated, he expressed his readiness to continue the dialogue and the need for a new Conference, properly prepared so that it does not fail.

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev expressed support for the efforts to reach a solution to the Cyprus problem, based on the United Nations.
 In his statements, he referred to the close relations between Bulgaria and Cyprus, emphasizing that there is a common desire for further deepening and expansion of the trade and economic relations between the two countries.
 He also said that with President Anastasiadis, they also exchanged views on energy issues.
 Mr. Radev referred to the memoranda of cooperation signed today between Cyprus and Bulgaria, describing the consultations as constructive.
