Five objections to the candidacies of the five candidates, Nikos Anastasiadis, Nikola Papadopoulos, Stavros Mala, George Lillikas and Christos Christou, were submitted by the also candidate Harry Aristidou.

The objections were examined and the reasons for all were rejected, according to a statement by the Assistant Superintendent for the Election of the President of the Republic, Dimitris Dimitriou.
The deadline for submitting objections expired at 18.00 on Friday.
Tomorrow, Saturday at 11.00, a meeting of the Election Service will be held with the representatives of the candidates for the preparation of the ballot paper.
Mr. Dimitriou stated that he is expected to clarify before the Epiphany (January 6) the number of polling stations that will operate, adding that they will be around 1.100 at home and around 38 abroad.
Asked to clarify whether the convicts will exercise their right to vote, Mr. Dimitriou said that he is not aware of a court decision that deprives a convict of the right to vote. He reminded that there will be a polling station in the prisons and that the number of ballots will be clarified later.
