The state must give more emphasis to its social policy, to turn with special sensitivity to those groups of the population that face many problems, said today the General Secretary of AKEL Andros Kyprianou.
Mr. Kyprianou visited the Archangel Michael Retirement Home in Kaimakli and the Public and Community Kindergarten "Paidomana".
I believe, said in his statements Mr. Kyprianou, that the State has an obligation to support such centers that provide important services to the people and we should see how the support is increased, which is provided because while the cost is huge for maintenance and operation of these community centers, their support from the state is very limited.
"In these days of love and when everyone wants to have a better time with family, with friends, I consider it our duty to visit our compatriots who face some difficulties on the one hand and young children on the other, who must to give them joy these days ", he noted.
We have visited, he continued, a kindergarten and the Rehabilitation Center in Kaimakli, a center that we have visited many times, we have brought some small gifts to the people who live here and our wishes above all to have a good time, to is in the best of health with the problems they face and with the hope that 2018 will finally bring the coveted liberation and reunification of Cyprus.
