The Inspector General of Elections, on the occasion of comments on social media and online media in Cyprus and Greece, regarding the 'results' card of the first round of the presidential elections states the following:
(a) The card that is being circulated is part of the trial that the company that cooperates with the television stations for the visualization and presentation of the results of the presidential elections, prepared and tested on a television station yesterday and its office and the Ministry in general Interior has no involvement in the whole matter.
(b) The specific card with the logos of the Ministry of Interior and the reference "Official results" were misused, even if the final results of the 2013 presidential elections were used to prepare it, by changing and using the names and photos of the current candidates .
It is noted that the Chief Electoral Officer, as soon as he realized the specific incident, contacted the company and was instructed to withdraw the card, which was done, and to continue the trials at other TV stations without using the specific data.
