The humanitarian corridor Amalthea is not going to stop, the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis said today.

Condemning the events in Gaza where members of the NGO World Central Kitchen were killed by Israeli forces, President Christodoulidis, in the framework of joint statements with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsolas at the KSED Larnaca, said that the tragic events should not discourage us but to redouble our efforts us to send more aid to Gaza.

For her part, Roberta Metzola, condemning the attack, said that we should continue to press all actors in the region for a ceasefire, noting that the hostilities must stop.

At the same time, he said that efforts to return the Israeli hostages held by Hamas should continue.

He also expressed the full support of the European Parliament in the Cyprus issue.

He also mentioned that on the subject of irregular immigrants, the European Parliament is preparing to approve a large legislative package that will also include proposals from Cyprus to address the challenges.
