The President of the Republic discusses immigration in Lebanon

The President of the Republic is in Lebanon today

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, is going to Lebanon today, Monday, where he will have a meeting with the leadership of the country's Government, to discuss the increased sea flows of irregular migrants, mainly Syrians, from Lebanon to Cyprus.

According to an announcement by the Presidency, upon his arrival, President Christodoulidis will be welcomed by the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati.

An official welcome ceremony will take place at the Prime Minister's Palace and a private meeting between President Christodoulidis and Prime Minister Mikati will follow, while extended talks will take place between the delegations of the two countries.

Afterwards, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri.

 

It is noted that the President of the Republic will be accompanied in Beirut by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Interior, the Government Representative, the Chief of the National Guard, the Commander of the KYP and National Security Advisor, the Head of the Diplomatic Office of the President of the Republic, official agents.

The President of the Republic will return to Cyprus in the afternoon of the same day, the announcement concludes.
