The President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis noted the very good relations of Cyprus with Egypt, and said that during the meeting he will have with the President of Egypt Al Sisi they will discuss a number of issues such as energy and the economy.
Answering questions from journalists before the Pancyprian conference of the Association of Reserve Officers in Nicosia, the President, referring to the visit of the President of Egypt to Cyprus, noted the very good relations between the two countries and stressed that it is the first time that the President of Egypt officially Cyprus.
He said that in the bilateral meeting he will have with the Egyptian President, they will discuss a number of issues governing the relations between the two countries, including energy, economy, education and culture.
In the tripartite meeting that will take place with the participation of the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, the interests of all three countries will be discussed, he said.
Answering questions regarding the initiatives that the Republic of Cyprus is developing for the talks on the Cyprus issue, he said that the Republic of Cyprus is a real state that is developing initiatives to strengthen its prestige.
Regarding the situation in Lebanon, President Anastasiadis expressed the hope that the uncertainty in the neighboring country will be overcome.
Asked about the Egyptian vessel, the President said that we should be serious in this place as populism does not benefit anyone, as he said and expressed satisfaction with the announcement of the Attorney General and the Police on the matter.
