The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, is going to Brussels today, where he will participate in the European Council Summit that will take place on February 1st.

According to an announcement by the Presidency of the Republic, on the afternoon of January 31, President Christodoulidis will attend the event organized by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in memory of Jacques Delors, while in the evening he is expected to attend the dinner that he will host in honor of of the leaders the President of the Council Charles Michel.

The following morning, the President of the Republic will participate in the European People's Party Summit, and then he will participate in the work of the European Council Summit, which will deal with issues related to the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework, the situation in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.

President Christodoulidis will address the Summit, where he will refer, among other things, to the critical situation in the Middle East and the need for the EU to take an active role in ending, but also in dealing with, the effects of the war.

The President of the Republic, who will be accompanied by the Deputy Government Spokesman Yiannis Antoniou, the Director of the Press Office of the President Victor Papadopoulos and officials, will return to Cyprus late in the evening of February 1, the announcement concludes.
