Stewart meets with President of the Republic - Tatars in view of departure for NY

The leaders of the two communities, the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis and the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, will be seen separately by the UN Secretary-General's special representative in Cyprus and head of UNFICYP, Colin Stewart, before he goes to New York to brief the Security Council in view of a renewal of the tenure of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus.

According to KYPE information, Mr. Stewart will have a meeting with the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar today, while tomorrow he will meet with the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis in the morning.

He will then depart for New York where he will brief the Security Council and meet with the new Secretary-General's envoy when the appointment is announced.
