The reorganization, development and strengthening of civil protection, with an emphasis on the interoperability of the emergency system (112) and the Early Warning System in cases of crises and disasters are among the proposals of the Ministry of the Interior for granting support from the Directorate-General for European Space Reform (DG Reform).
As stated in an announcement by the Ministry of the Interior, these issues were at the center of the issues discussed between Constantinos Ioannou and the Director General in the Directorate General for Structural Reforms of the European Commission (DG REFORM), Mario Navas, who is visiting Cyprus.

In addition, according to the announcement, the possibility of contributing to the creation of a platform for the evaluation of the skills and qualifications of third country nationals, in the context of strategic integration, as well as the provision of technical assistance in the procedures for the establishment of the Deputy Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, were examined.

During the meeting, there was a review of the progress of the implementation of the programs, for which the Ministry of Interior received technical support, concerning, among other things, the effective treatment of issues of money laundering and financing of terrorist organizations and the strengthening of the mass valuation of real estate.

Finally, Mr. Ioannou and Mr. Nava discussed the ways to further strengthen the transport of goods within the framework of Regulation (EC) 866/2004 of the Council on the Green Line.
