The renovation and expansion works of the church of Panagiotissa in Protaras, brought to light important findings of the pre-existence of a church and other buildings in the area which are expected to further illuminate the ecclesiastical and cultural history of the area.
On the morning of Saturday, December 14, 2019, members of the team of German experts from the Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität of Berlin) working on the project for the promotion of the Monastery of Ayia Napa under the supervision of Professor of Art History Ms. Brigitta Schrade, accompanied by Metropolitan Constantius Vassilios, paid an on-site visit to the site.
