Ayia Napa marina will enrich the tourist product of Cyprus, says the Minister of Energy

The marina of Ayia Napa will enrich the tourist product of Cyprus, said today the Minister of Energy, Industry and Tourism George Lakkotrypis, expressing the hope that the project will be completed within the set schedules, ie within five years.

Speaking at the laying of the foundation stone of the Ayia Napa marina, the Minister said that "it is a project that both the region of free Famagusta and the whole of Cyprus was looking forward to. It is an infrastructure project which we believe will enrich our tourism product ".

We hope, he continued "that the project will be completed as soon as possible and in the schedules that have been set because it is very important for the enrichment of our tourism product".

Mr. Lakkotrypis also stated that today the revenues from tourism for July have been made public "and are particularly increased by 17,6%. The important thing is that the increase in July revenues is greater than the arrivals for the same month, which amounted to 16,3% ".

This means, he noted that "we welcome more tourists but also spend more. "Certainly this is the trend we want to create and make it permanent, and projects like the Ayia Napa marina are very important."
