This is a 5-door fastback model, placed next to the eighth generation Passat, with which it shares the exact same floor. The rival of the Opel Insignia Grand Sport bears several similarities with the original Sport Coupe Concept of 2015, launching, according to the leaders of VW, a new design language for the German company.

In terms of design, the eye is magnetized by the accentuated hood, the sloping, of course, roof, the narrow and long grille, which "enters" deep into the front bumper, the characteristic LED lights, as well as the accentuated wheel arches. According to VW, the new Arteon will be available in three trim levels, including the R-Line and Elegance. In terms of dimensions, it is worth standing at 4,86 m in length and only 1,43 m in height. Even more majestic is the wheelbase, which reaches 2.841 mm, a price higher by 51 mm. compared to its Passat counterpart.

In terms of cargo space, the achievements of the Arteon reach 563 liters, while with the folding of the rear seat, to 1.557 liters.

Inside, VW used the familiar forms from the Passat with individual modifications to the points. A point of reference is of course the full digital Active Info Display instrument panel, as well as the 9,2-inch TFT screen on the console, which is fully controlled by touch with several of its functions being activated through the driver's gestures.

Under the hood of the car will be housed a diesel engine and two petrol in 3 + 3 variants, all with turbo and four in total cylinders. Among them, the new 1.5 TSI stands out, which delivers 150 hp in the Evo version. In terms of the 2,0-liter class, VW offers two options, with 190 or 280 horsepower. As far as diesels are concerned, the well-known German 2.0 TDI will be available in Europe in versions with 150, 190 and 240 hp.

In terms of transmission, VW offers the base 1.5 TSI and the 150 and 190 diesel versions with a 6-speed manual transmission and the rest with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is worth adding that the top 2-liter petrol and diesel versions of 280 and 240 hp are the only ones equipped with VW's well-known 4Motion four-wheel drive system.
