London has the largest free WiFi zone in Europe

Some central London areas will all be the largest free Wi-Fi hotspots in Europe this year, with the entire installation expected to be completed before this summer's Olympics…

The British O2 provider is working with local councils in Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster to provide the service, and will begin full installation this month.

London already has many premium access points from O2, BT Openzone and The Cloud, among others, but it still lags behind cities like Paris and New York in terms of free access.

It is still too early to know how good the service will be, but it is still a big effort.
