An "international conference" on Varosia is being prepared at a Turkish university in the autumn, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said, adding that they would do "what international law requires" for Varosia and that they would take these steps without reservation.

In an interview with the Turkish channel ATV, the Turkish President said that they gave the message during his visit to the occupied territories and added that some countries and organizations began to threaten. "In the meantime, a meeting was held in Geneva. Thanks to this meeting, Mr. Tatar stood up, remained steadfast and conveyed our message to the people there. What is this; Two sovereign states. There are no more concessions here, it's over. We can not wait another 50 years, it's over. "What needs to be done must be done now," he said.

Regarding the Burgenstock process, Tayyip Erdogan said that "unfortunately the EU has always kept the northern part lying since then; it has not fulfilled its commitments". According to him, "he had to give great administrative and financial support. He did not give any. Look, they are still delaying Cyprus right now. Who now recognizes Cyprus (meaning occupied)? Only U.S".

He wondered "why don't you recognize her? When you come to the south, why not go to the north? Go. Who scares you?

But we, he said, "went calmly and comfortably. What happens in the next process? We will show it in time, but are the enclosed Varosia open now? They opened. Now, what kind of steps will be taken for this place, what is required by international law ". "We will take these steps in accordance with this law. We have no reservations here either. "We have very strong people trained in this area," said Tayyip Erdogan.

The Turkish President added that "now, perhaps in the autumn, we are considering an international conference. We will do this international conference through one of our universities, in a way that covers this part as well ".

Asked if this "international conference" would cover the Cyprus issue and the eastern Mediterranean in general, the Turkish president said yes but said he would focus mainly on Varos.
