According to today's announcement, at the initiative of the Association of Municipalities, a meeting of the Executive Committee and other Mayors with the Auditor General took place on Monday, April 11, on the issue of renewing the agreement between Green Dot and the Municipalities that expired in July 2015. , but also for the complaints made to the Auditor General regarding the licensing, operation and practices of Green Dot.
After an exchange of views with the Auditor General, the Executive Committee of the Union decided to terminate the negotiations with Green Dot to reach a collective agreement, if there are serious differences between Municipalities and this company.
Therefore, it is stated, each interested Municipality is free to make its own decisions, and proceed according to its choices to negotiate directly with Green Dot, or to take those measures that it considers in its interest for the collection of recyclable packaging materials. and non-packaging within its municipal boundaries.
In the meantime, the whole issue is under serious study in the Audit Office and the Union urges our members to proceed with any future decisions and actions in the light of the Auditor General's findings, which are expected.
